Let me clarify: we don’t have chore charts around here. I’m not against chore charts, mind you. I’m just… not “there” yet. Lacy’s probably old enough to have one, but I haven’t found the time/motivation to make one that suits our farmily.
But lately, she’s been cleaning. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me! A few days after Valentine’s Day, I cleaned the kids room and Lacy was SO HAPPY that she’s cleaned it every day since. I made her a little graph and told her she can color in another space every night if she cleans her room before bedtime. When all of the spaces are colored in, she gets something she wants very, very dearly. A “Tangled” coloring book.
The only downside to her cleaning is that she’s noticed that her mother’s room is… ahem… less than Tangled Coloring Book Worthy.
So what does she do?
Makes me a graph all my own. And tapes it to my wall.
I tried to decipher what she’d written on it and finally had to ask her to tell me.
Fine.

Someone needs to make ME a chore chart…
Just so you know: it hasn’t changed anything. I still haven’t been able to get my room in order. Give me a few bookcases, some closet doors, a few bucks for paint, curtains, and a new comforter and THEN we’ll talk :)
My problem is my office. Papers EVERYWHERE. Part of the problem is I am a “to-do list” person. But now I have to do lists all over my desk and I can’t keep track.
Haha! I’m a to-do list person too! I have to limit myself to only six things per day or I get overwhelmed and end up spending the day attached to the couch watching movies. I don’t know what my malfunction is. When I have to much to do, I bury my head in the sand.
